801/40 Models - The Smallest 801 at 40.3mm
Model 801/40-CE “Classic Enamel”
With the case made as small as possible to fit the 801 movement, this smaller 801/40 will now fit more wrist sizes than ever. The box-style sapphire crystal completes the classic look and contributes to the slim design aesthetic. The view from the back of the watch is all movement.
The 801/40-EE Blending two old-world arts, a Grand Feu real glass Enamel skeleton dial, and a hand-cut Engine-Turned (Guillochè) main-plate, the craft applied directly to the movement, not the dial. The 801/40-CE has a full double sunk Grand Feu glass enamel dial. Truly a work of Art!
With a full solid silver hand-cut Engine-Turned (Guilloché) dial and blued steel hands, the 801/40-E shows the beauty of the hand-made work that created it.
Behind the dial is our American 801 movement. Like many things we do at RGM, the 801 is inspired by America's great watchmaking past. The bridges are reminiscent of the Keystone Howard Watch Company's "Edward Howard" model, their flagship watch, and one of the high-grade watches of its time. The unique winding click is inspired by the Illinois Watch Company's "Illini" model and the deep polished winding wheels are finished like those of the Illinois "Bunn Special." Like the great Railroad watches from America's past, the 801 has a high-grade finish that denotes the quality of its construction.
